Network and System Administration Training

In today's world, where the internet has become an indispensable platform for online services, knowledge of networking and system administration is more important than ever. Our Advanced networking training is designed to provide both the concepts of network as well as system administration. This course covers basic networking concepts, Windows Server, and Linux Server administration, along with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting skills. Participants will gain hands-on experience to prepare them for roles in network administration, support, and system administration. To make this training effective we have incorporate both Windows and Linux server administration.

- Types of Networks:

  • Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and Metropolitan Area Network (MAN).
  • Network topologies: Star, Ring, Mesh, Bus, Hybrid.
  • Protocols and standards: OSI model, TCP/IP stack, and key protocols (TCP, UDP, HTTP, FTP, DNS, DHCP).

- Networking Devices:

  • Routers, switches, hubs, bridges, modems, access points.
  • Functions and setup of networking devices.
  • Basic Networking Concepts:

  - IP Addressing (IPv4 and IPv6).

  • Subnetting and CIDR notation.
  • Network Address Translation (NAT), DHCP, DNS, and DHCP servers.
  • Default Gateways, DNS Servers, and IP Configuration.

- Hands-on Lab:

  • Setting up a simple LAN using switches and routers.
  • Configuring static and dynamic IP addressing.

- Router and Switch Configuration:

  • Configuring routers and switches for a simple network setup.
  • Basic configurations: IP routing, VLANs, trunking, and access control lists (ACLs). 

- TCP/IP Configuration:

  • Configuring network interfaces, IP addressing (static and dynamic), and subnetting.
  • Troubleshooting IP configurations using commands like ipconfig, ping, tracert, nslookup.

- Hands-on Lab:

  • Configuring a router with static IP and routing between networks.
  • Setting up DHCP server for automatic IP address assignment.

- Wired Network Setup:

  • Types of cables (Ethernet, fiber optic, coaxial).
  • Crimping and testing network cables (RJ45, RJ11).
  • Fiber optics vs. copper cabling.

- Wireless Network Setup:

  • Configuring wireless routers and access points (WPA, WPA2 encryption).
  • Network security: Setting up SSIDs, encryption, and authentication.

- Hands-on Lab:

  • Crimping and testing network cables.
  • Configuring a wireless router and securing the network.

- Email Clients Configuration:

  • Configuring email clients (Outlook, Thunderbird) using POP3, IMAP, and SMTP.

- Mail Servers:

  • Introduction to mail servers: SMTP, POP, IMAP.
  • Configuring Postfix on Linux and setting up email services on Windows Server.  

- Hands-on Lab:

  • Configuring email clients to send and receive emails.
  • Setting up a basic mail server using Postfix (Linux) and Microsoft Exchange (Windows Server). 

- Installation and Configuration of Windows Server:

  • Installing Windows Server (2019/2022).
  • Configuring Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), DNS, DHCP.  

- File and Printer Sharing:

  • Configuring file sharing, permissions, and access control on Windows Server.

- Network Services Configuration:

  • Configuring DHCP, DNS, and VPN (Remote Access).
  • Setting up network shares, permissions, and security policies.

  • Installing and configuring Windows Server as a domain controller.
  • Configuring DHCP and DNS servers, adding users to Active Directory.

- Linux Networking Basics:

  • Network interface configuration (using `ifconfig`, `ip`, and `nmcli`).
  • Configuring static and dynamic IP addresses.

- Installing and Configuring Networking Services:

  • Installing and configuring DNS and DHCP services on Linux (BIND9 and ISC DHCP Server).
  • Configuring NFS and Samba for file sharing.

  • Installing a LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) on a Linux server.
