Road Design Training

The Road Design Training offers a comprehensive program that equips participants with the knowledge and skills needed for effective road design and management. The training covers various software tools, including SW Road, Civil 3D, MS Excel, and Primavera, essential for road design projects. Participants will learn the fundamentals of road design, including alignment and profile creation, cross-section design, corridor modeling, and surface design using SW Road and Civil 3D. Additionally, the training covers estimation techniques, project management principles, and 3D road animation and visualization, providing a well-rounded understanding of road design concepts and practices. By the end of the training, participants will be proficient in using industry-standard software tools and techniques to design, estimate, manage, and visualize road projects effectively.

Objective of the road design training

The objective of the Road Design Training is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to effectively design, manage, and visualize road projects using industry-standard software tools. The training aims to:

  1. Introduce participants to the principles and importance of road design.
  2. Familiarize participants with software tools such as SW Road, Civil 3D, MS Excel, and Primavera for road design and management.
  3. Provide hands-on experience in creating road alignments, profiles, cross-sections, and corridors using SW Road and Civil 3D.
  4. Teach participants estimation techniques for road projects, including quantity takeoff and cost estimation.
  5. Equip participants with project management skills for road projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
  6. Enable participants to create 3D road animations and visualizations to communicate design concepts effectively.
  7. Prepare participants for a career in road design and management by providing them with practical skills and industry-relevant knowledge.

Prerequisite of road design training

  1. Basic Engineering Knowledge: A basic understanding of engineering principles and terminology is beneficial.
  2. Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using computers and basic software is necessary.
  3. Familiarity with AutoCAD: While not mandatory, familiarity with AutoCAD or similar software would be helpful.
  4. Background in Civil Engineering: A background in civil engineering or a related field is recommended.
  5. Interest in Road Design: A keen interest in road design and a desire to learn new software tools and techniques.

If  you are not familiar with AutoCAD then we suggest you to take our comprehensive AutoCAD Training.
